The fabric is a thinner, more stretchy type compared to ordinary denim. The color is deep blue, and they are a very flattering fit on my body. After having kids I appreciate the extra two inches or so in the rise, but they are still not looking like mom jeans. They also retain their shape really well. I am 5.7, and had to hem the jeans which I did by using the "cheater's method".
I highly recommend these, and the price is unbeatable!
Edit Dec. 2011: When I got these I paid around $85 for them.

Great Jeans, September 26, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 7 For All Mankind Women's Highwaist Boot Cut Jean (Apparel) This is my 4th pair of 7 jeans, love the stretchy fit and cut for my slightly pear frame though I always have to have the length altered due to my height but the cut makes my legs ever so long especially with heels on. The only drawback is that the dark-colored jeans tend to run against light coloured shoes, bags and tops and I think perhaps it is best for the first few wearings to pair it with dark-coloured everything.
